Fashion Trend: Snake Skin

Scrolling through Instagram I noticed a growing amount of snake skin printed clothing, most item from the Zara clothing brand. This so 80s throwback is already a favourite among the animal print trend for the autumn/ fall season up North so you can expect to see it making its way to us in the coming seasons, if not weeks. Animal prints like leopard spots, zebra stripes and snake skin have recently been showcased on the runways of Victoria Beckham, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Marni.

The print is a bit on the bold and edgy side and you’d obviously want to do it justice. Opt for tight form fitting pieces like skinny pants, a mini skirt, a tiny crop top, fitted slip dress or blazer. The key is to avoid too much material as it can easily look over the top diverting away from the snake look. It may be a calculated look but don’t forget to have fun with colour as well, from chocolate brown to burnt orange, lime green, electric blue, acid yellow, fiery red and popping pink.

Mosquito net, but make it fashion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used to think that I couldn’t take cool photos because I didn’t live in a scenic place, or because I don’t usually travel to the idyllic hotspots that travel bloggers frequent. But I’ve been learning from other bloggers and photographers (esp @thesvnflwr @yagazieemezi & @sorelleamore) that you can take a picture and create a story from the most mundane objects, in any setting. I’m definitely still learning and training my eyes to see the world around me differently, but that’s part of the joy in creating, no?
